Other Composite Materials
As carbon fiber takes a more and more prominent position in the composites market it is easy to forget where composites began. Fiberglass is still responsible for more than 70 percent of all composites manufacturing. When combined with polyester gel coats and vinyl ester resin systems , fiberglass can be used for inexpensive plug and mold production as well as parts manufacturing when carbon fiber doesn’t make sense.
Other composites materials are often combined to take advantage of a variety of materials properties to optimize composites potential. Such materials as S-glass, Kevlar, and other synthetics can be interwoven with each other or with carbon fiber. New advances in materials designed specifically for infusion offer advantages in production options.
We look forward to discussing these options with our customers to reach a cost effective solution for your project.
